1. Contents:

The content of Lituril is the active substance lithium carbonate.

2. What it is used for: 

Lituril is used to prevent and treat episodes of exacerbation and recurrent depression in a disease called “manic-depressive illness”. Also, it is used to reduce the frequency of cluster headaches, which come in the form of seizures, and to treat depression and other behavioral disorders. Another use of Lituril is to reduce the frequency of infection in patients with a low number of fragmented cells in the blood.

3. How it is used:

The medicine is taken according to the doctor’s recommendations and is usually divided into 3 or 4 doses during the day. At the beginning of treatment, the total daily amount of medicine can be 4 or 6 capsules, which are taken divided at equal intervals. During the current period, a total of 3 or 4 capsules per day are used. In the treatment of cluster headaches, it is recommended to take 1 capsule 2 or 3 times a day.

4. Additional information/method of storage:

When taking Lituril, regular monitoring of serum lithium levels is recommended, especially during long-term treatment. In the beginning, lithium levels are measured twice a week to find the appropriate dose.
