Vaptor 10mg Tablet is an antihyperlipidemic drug. It is used for the lowering of cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood along with a low fat/low cholesterol diet, regular exercise and other lifestyle changes. Each tablet of Vaptor 10mg contains the active ingredient Rosuvastatin, which belongs to the class of drugs known as statins.

How effective is Vaptor 10mg?

Vaptor 10mg Tablet is a very effective treatment option for lowering high levels of bad cholesterol in the blood. Not only does this medication lower high cholesterol levels, but it also helps the body eliminate it faster. The use of Vaptor 10mg is indicated in hyperlipidaemia, dyslipidemia, and for lowering the risk of heart attack or stroke in patients who are at a high risk. This drug works by acting on the liver and inhibiting the formation of cholesterol.

What dose should I choose?

In adults, the usual initial dose is 1 tablet (10 mg) taken orally once per day. Maximum dose is upto 40mg.

For children 7 years and older the usual dose is upto 20mg orally per day.

It is not recommended for children less than 7 years.

If you skip a dose by any chance, take it as soon as you remember. Skip the already missed dose if it’s almost time for the next one. Do not double the dose.

What are the side-effects and other warnings when taking Vaptor 10mg?

Some common and uncommon side-effects when taking Vaptor 10mg include:

• Headache
• Dizziness
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Diarrhoea
• Myalgia
• Rash

If you experience any side-effects that persist or worsen or any unusual symptoms, contact your doctor immediately.
